2017年シーズン限りでJGRスズキ（exヤマハ）を離れることとなったジャスティン・バーシア。気になる来季の契約について自身のSNS上コメントによると複数のオファーがあるとのことですが、現時点で未決定…

そのバーシアからSNS経由で新たな情報が発信されています。

Hello Everyone, Well I have an option or two that I will be looking into for 2018, but for now I am extremely excited to announce my plans for the Monster Energy Cup. On October 14th I will be riding a privateer Honda. Details are still getting worked out, but so far I am excited and wanted to share the news with the Moto community. 10月14日にラスベガスで開催されるビッグイベント「モンスターエナジーカップ」へ、ホンダのマシンを駆り、プライベーターとして参戦発表！

バーシア個人のビッグスポンサーであるモンスターエナジーの冠がつくシーズンオフのビッグイベントへの出場について様々な憶測がささやかれていましたが、プライベーターとして、さらに以前所属していたホンダのマシンでの参戦はサプライズ感あるものでした。

MXGP参戦も視野に入れ、来季契約シート獲得の動きが水面下で行われているとの噂はAMAモトクロスシーズン中から周知のものとされていました。AMAモトクロスシーズン中にはイギリス人モンスターエナジーガールとの婚約発表もあり、心機一転のバーシア復活を期待したいところです。

AMAレースシーンでは、10月から新契約スタートとされており、記憶に新しいところではホンダ移籍正式発表直後のケン・ロクスンの初レースは昨年のモンスターエナジーカップでした。

「モンスターエナジーカップへ、ホンダのマシンでプライベート参戦」の意味するところは何なのでしょう？AMAではホンダサポートのMCRホンダのジェイク・ワイマー負傷のニュース、MXGPホンダファクトリーに新たなチームスポンサー発表と動きはあるようですが… 今後のバーシア関連情報からも目が離せません！
